ACSESS/Breakaway Components 9th - 12th Grade Students

Adventure Activities - Students will be involved in a day long adventure consisting of rock climbing and rapelling or ropes course activities.

Parent Development - Parents and students participate in ten group sessions focusing on conflict resolution, communications, anger management, healthy choices, and other essential life skills. Groups meet weekly during the evening for two hours.

Goals - Students will set out and work towards accomplishing four goals in the areas of School Performance, Family Relations, Community Service and Personal Growth.

Breakway Wilderness Experience - Students will participate in a unique four day three night backpacking experience focusing on personal growth, values clarification, and self-empowerment.

In all Activities,the emphasis on Safety and providing an experience with elements of perceived risk. The program's Adventure Specialist have been trained in facilitating and leading adventure activities and wilderness experiences. In addition, all staff are Certified Wilderness First Responder.

ACSESS/Breakaway & ACSESS Limited are experiential-based programs utilizing a variety of interactive and adventure activities designed to assist young people in building confidence, and developing healthy life skills for dealing with stresses and conflicts they face today.



This specific program philosophy focuses on including a desire in young people to learn, grow and recognize their individual potential through challenging and successful experiences. ACSESS/Breakaway & ACSESS Limited Programs will assist students in making positive life choices and direct them toward a healthy, productive and successful future.

ACSESS/Breakaway Components 7th - 8th Grade Students
Adventure Activities - Students will be involved in a three day long adventures consisting of rock climbing, rapelling, caving and ropes course activities.

Parent Development - Parents and students participate in seven group sessions focusing on conflict resolution, communications, anger management, healthy choices, and other essential life skills. Groups meet weekly during the evening for 1.5 hours.

Goals - Students will set out and work towards accomplishing weekly short term goals in the areas of School Performance and Family Relations.

Students can be referred by parents, school personel, counselor or other relevant adult. Upon referral, program staff will conduct a comprehensive assessment to determine how the youth's needs can best be met.
